Borlido

A Bairrada house shaped by time and focused on what comes next.

The story began in 1933, with cellar knowledge passed from one generation to the next. Since 2020, Destilaria Levira and Rui Cruz have given that heritage new resources, renewed precision and a clear ambition: to take Bairrada further.

1933, the method passes from hand to hand

Borlido was born in Bairrada, where natural grape acidity and generations of cellar experience created distinctive conditions for sparkling wine.

Since 1933, the traditional method has passed from hand to hand and been refined through time. That heritage brings a responsibility: to take the best of the region further, with pride in Bairrada and precision in every bottle.

2020, a new responsibility

In 2020, joining Destilaria Levira opened a new phase. Borlido's heritage gained technical capability, control, product vision and the winemaking of Rui Cruz.

Levira's expertise and genuine spirit guide every decision, from selecting the base wine to defining cellar time. The aim is to show the world a Bairrada that can stand apart and innovate without losing its origin.

03

Bairrada, without shortcuts

Bical, Arinto and Maria Gomes form the Blanc de Blancs family. Baga, vinified as white and as rosé, stands at the centre of the Baga Bairrada family.

At Borlido, the traditional method and cellar ageing are not there to decorate a story. They make the wine: shaping the bead, texture, complexity and character of every lot.

1933

The heritage goes back a long way. The way forward is new.
