A historic house, alive in the present

The heritage goes back a long way. The way forward is new.

Borlido was founded in 1933 in the heart of Bairrada. Since 2020, Destilaria Levira has led a new chapter, bringing technical capability, a genuine spirit and a clear ambition for the region's sparkling wines.

Rui Cruz leads the winemaking. His reading of Baga, traditional white varieties and cellar time gives both families a coherent identity.

Traditional method

The wine finds its rhythm inside the bottle.

The second fermentation takes place in the bottle itself. Time and lees then work quietly until riddling, disgorgement and the final rest.

Freshness, acidity and precision from harvest onward.

Yeast and sugar begin the second fermentation.

Lees ageing

The bottle rests on fine lees.

Riddling

Gradual turning guides sediment to the neck.

Disgorgement

The sediment is removed and the bottle is sealed.

Final rest

Each lot regains balance before leaving the cellar.
