Pairing sparkling wine with food

Acidity and bubbles make sparkling wine versatile at the table. Sweetness and ageing help guide the choice.

01

Brut Nature

Younger Blanc de Blancs pair with shellfish, sushi, fish and delicate fried food.

Baga Bairrada and longer-aged wines have enough structure for poultry, roast dishes, mushrooms, cheese and richer cooking.

02

Medium Dry and Sweet

Medium Dry works with sweet-and-sour flavours, moderate spice, soft cheese and fruit desserts.

Sweet suits pão de ló, custard tarts, fruit tarts and ripe fruit. Dessert should not be sweeter than the wine.
